With the way Tottenham Hotspur are going at the moment, they will end up having themselves a great season, according to their former player Aaron Lennon. Since their current manager Nuno Espirito Santo took over this summer, Spurs have been grinding out good results and they sit at the top of the English Premier League table after winning their first three games of the new Premier League season. Nuno Espirito has instilled a different mentality in the players and they are now playing with more resilience and zeal to win, more than they showed under their former manager José Mourinho before the Portuguese tactician was relieved of his duties before the end of last season.
Mourinho’s sacking came right before Spurs played their Cup final match against Manchester City, the eventual winners of the League Cup, and a lot of people were actually in agreement that Tottenham owner Daniel Levy should have been thoughtful enough to allow the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager to remain at the helm until at least after the final, with a lot of Spurs fans also believing that their Cup final defeat was because Mourinho was not around. Different reports from multiple sources are claiming that Manchester City are very close to agreeing a deal with Aston Villa for the transfer of attacking midfielder Jack Grealish. The England international midfielder has been finding himself under the spotlight for the last few months and has also been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past. However, while the Red Devils were truly interested in signing him some months ago, they were not willing to pay the £100 million fee that the Villans were demanding as his transfer fee, causing the ransfer to break down and the player then signed a new five-year deal afterward.
Now reports are claiming that Grealish is finally moving to Manchester but not to United, as Sky Sports claim that Pep Guardiola is very close to landing the midfielder and take him to the Etihad. Guardiola reportedly wants him to form a deadly midfield partnership with Belgium international star Kevin de Bruyne as the former Barcelona manager continues to try all attempts to win the UEFA Champions League title with the Cityzens – the only trophy he is yet to win at the club since his appointment on the summer of 2016.
