MAN UTD OFFERED DEFENDER TO AC MILAN

According to latest report from England, Manchester United have offered Eric Bailly to AC Milan. Bailly, 26, has only made 10 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2019-2020 campaign. Although he was injured for a long time and only made a return to first team action in February just before the league was suspended later in March.

The defender has been offered to AC Milan, per reports. The Italian giants are in the market for a center-back this summer. The Rossoneri are going through a rebuilding process and they have identified the Ivorian as part of their plan going forward.

Bailly is considered surplus to requirements at Old Trafford. The former Villareal defender is behind Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in the pecking order. He is quite dispensable, and the Red Devils are thought to be keen to sign another center-back ahead of next season. Dayot Upamecano and Kalidou Koulibaly of RB Leipzig and Napoli respectively have been linked with the club in recent months.

The defender who was signed by former United boss Jose Mourinho, made 38 appearances for United during his debut season at the club but has not featured on more than 18 occasions in any campaign since.

Bailly’s current deal with the Old Trafford giant is due to expire in June 2022. The club are not ready to openly talk about a possible extension and they have decided to move the player before the expiration of his deal.

Former boss Mourinho is also an admirer of Bailly and the possibility of the Ivorian moving to North London has also been mooted. Former Spurs winger Aron Lenon has backed the club to make a move for the player. He said that Bailly could be the ideal replacement for Roma bound Jan Vertonghen but of course the question would be the player’s fitness record.
