SPURS CLOSE IN ON NEILTON

Reports have been emerging claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer and closer on signing the player who has been dubbed as: ‘’The New Neymar’’. Neilton is a 19 years old forward of Santos and by next year he will be out of contract, to make matters more interesting Santos still have not reached an agreement with the player concerning a new deal.

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to build a young, energetic team mixed with experience and this is becoming more evident after one of their most recent signings Erik Lamela who recently scored his 1st goal with the Premier League team.

The 21 years old player Erik Lamela scored the opening goal of Tottenham’s match against Sheriff in their Europa League encounter.

‘’It was a very emotional evening because I scored my first goal. I’m very happy about that and very happy that we won as well. We have a very strong squad and it is very competitive. We always want to do well in all the tournaments we play in. All our players are strong, whatever their position, and [on the right wing] there are two or three players who know the position well’’. Erik Lamela said.

They suffered from a 6-0 defeat when playing against Manchester City and recorded their biggest Premier League defeat in 17 years. The manager of Tottenham Andre Villas-Boas spoke about the recent defeat and said:

“We have to be ashamed of a result like this; to lose 6-0 is extremely embarrassing.”

It will come to no surprise if Tottenham are in search of certain players during the winter transfer window as reinforcements might be just what they need to evade further defeats such as this one and make the proper title charge. Since the season of 2009-10 Tottenham have been finishing the season in top 5 spots of the Premier League.

LENNON RETURNS

Tottenham have received a big boost with the news that midfielder Aaron Lennon will be back to full training in the next few days. The winger has been missing from the Tottenham squad since the Crystal Palace match due to a foot injury. Since winning the opening league match, Tottenham have found it difficult to score a lot of goals in the Premier league and this has been much attributed to the absence of Lennon. After the departure of Gareth Bale, Lennon is probably one of the few players in the squad who can provide a lot of pace to the team.

In his absence, Villas-Boas has used Townsend as his replacement and he has so far been doing good. Yet, the consensus is that Lennon will be a much better player in this position since he is used to Premier league for a long time. The 26-year-old will now resume full training according to Villas-Boas. The player made 44 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions and scored four goals last season. Majority of his contribution came in the form of assists to the likes of Defoe and Gareth Bale. Tottenham have a tough run of fixtures in the next few weeks starting with the West London Derby against West Ham United this weekend.

“He is due to come back hopefully tomorrow [Friday] to training. He is making great progress and we should see him back to first team training next week,” Villas-Boas told reporters. The 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend is the first time Spurs have dropped points in the Premier league since the 1-0 defeat against Arsenal. This impressive run of form has put them just two points behind the North London rivals Arsenal in the table. There are currently third in the table with a two-point advantage over Chelsea.

Soccer Safari

Soccer Safari, a five-reel video slots game, is one of the sporting themed online casino games which has been around for quite a while. The game was originally devised to be a kind of spin-off from the World Cup allowing those football fans interested in both the tournament itself and placing bets on the outcomes, to have another way of combining these interests in football and gambling. However more football themed slots games are springing up all the time. So does Soccer Safari have what it takes to keep casino and football betting fans interested?

It certainly offers a unique spin on the typical football slots scenario, revolving around the concept of animals competing in a World Cup and based in a jungle football stadium. The stadium makes up the background, while the animals, including the likes of warthogs,

buffalo, lions and cheetahs, are on the reels. The standard of the animated graphics used to depict this set-up is very impressive. There are plenty of funny touches too for example: the notable resemblance that the elephant commentator has to a certain Mr Gary Lineker! This should amuse anyone with the slightest knowledge of, or interest in football. Continue reading “Soccer Safari”

AVB HAS 10 YEARS LEFT

The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Andre Villas-Boas, has said that he will finish his managerial career inside the next 10 years as he has a strong desire to take part in Dakar Rally.

This is really a shocking statement as Boas is only 35 years of age at the moment. He has managed only a few clubs in his career so far, but, he has been rated very highly in England. The football pundits say that he has the capability to become one of the best managers of all times.

Boas had joined Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the last season after having a dreadful run with Chelsea. At White Hart Lane, Boas made his mark in the very first season. He guided the team to the 5th position in the Premier League.

The Spurs just got beaten by the Gunners as far as the Champions League qualification is concerned, but, they played impressive football throughout the season and a lot of credit for that goes to Boas.

When asked how long he will continue managing teams, Boas said, “I will retire inside the next 10 years. I believe that everything has a limit. If you do things beyond limit, it’s not good.”

“I am passionate about participating in the Dakar Rally. I have to do it at some point of time in my life and I can do that only if I end my managerial career.”

“I have no idea how much success I will achieve as a racer, but, one thing I know for sure is that my career isn’t going to last long.”

When asked about the reports of Gareth Bale’s transfer, Boas said, “I want to make it clear that Gareth is not leaving the club. He hasn’t been put on sale. I have been clearly told by the chairman not to accept any bids for Gareth.”
